Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of chck.ai. By creating an account, grading a card (including as a guest), importing a listing, claiming a card, subscribing, or otherwise using the service, you agree to them.

1. The service

chck.ai produces algorithmic opinions on trading-card condition and issues digital certificates that link those opinions to specific photos you upload or import. Two-photo (front + back) grading currently returns a centering grade only; corner, edge, surface, and full grades require the complete multi-view capture set and are shown only when populated by the grading engine. Features, models, thresholds, and outputs may change without notice.

2. Grades are opinions — not appraisals, authentication, or advice

Grades, sub-grades, estimated values, comparable sales, deal scores, and recommendations issued by chck.ai are non-binding opinions generated by automated systems from the images and metadata provided. They are not appraisals, authentication guarantees, provenance verifications, insurance valuations, or financial, investment, or legal advice. Photo quality, lighting, cropping, and imported thumbnails can materially change an output. We may revise, re-run, or revoke any grade or certificate at any time if we believe it was issued in error, based on incorrect or misleading images, or otherwise unreliable.

3. Permitted and prohibited use of chck.ai outputs

You may use chck.ai grades and certificates for personal reference, collection tracking, and internal decision support. You must not rely on, cite, display, forward, or represent a chck.ai grade, sub-grade, estimated value, or certificate as:

• a professional grade, appraisal, authentication, or equivalent to a grade issued by PSA, BGS, SGC, CGC, or any other third-party grading company;
• a basis for a sale, purchase, trade, auction listing, price negotiation, consignment, loan, escrow release, or dispute resolution with a third party;
• evidence submitted to, or used to induce a decision by, any third-party grader, marketplace, insurer, escrow agent, dispute or chargeback service, or payment processor;
• a warranty, guarantee, or representation of condition, authenticity, or value to a buyer, seller, or counterparty.

Sharing a certificate URL is permitted, but you are responsible for how you frame it. Using a chck.ai output in any transaction or third-party grading submission is done entirely at your own risk, and you agree chck.ai has no liability for the outcome (see Section 9).

4. Your content, imports, and image sources

You confirm that you own or have the necessary rights and permissions to upload, capture, import, drag-and-drop, or otherwise submit the images and claim evidence you provide, and that doing so does not violate any third-party right, marketplace rule, or applicable law. When you import from a public listing (for example an eBay URL) or drag an image from another site, you are directing chck.ai to fetch that image on your behalf; you represent that you have authority to do so and that the resulting grade will not be used in a way that misrepresents the underlying listing or its seller. You grant chck.ai a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, process, and display that content for the purpose of operating the service, publishing any certificate you choose to issue, and improving our grading systems.

5. Third-party marketplaces and data

Listing imports, comparable sales, and marketplace links are provided for convenience only. chck.ai is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by eBay or any other marketplace, grader, or rights holder referenced in the service. We do not verify the accuracy of third-party listings, prices, or images and are not responsible for third-party content, availability, or terms. Your use of any linked marketplace is governed by that marketplace's own terms.

6. Ownership claims

Claiming a card asserts that you are its physical owner at the time of the claim. We may request additional evidence and may approve, deny, suspend, or reverse claims at our discretion. Filing a fraudulent, negligent, or misleading claim is a material breach of these Terms and may result in account termination and removal of associated certificates.

7. Subscriptions, credits, and guest grading

Paid tiers grant a monthly allowance of grading credits. Unused credits expire at the end of the billing period. Overage grades are charged at the per-grade rate disclosed on the pricing page at the time of purchase. Guest / unauthenticated grades are provided on a best-effort basis, are rate-limited, and may be withheld, throttled, or deleted at any time. You can cancel a subscription at any time from the billing portal; access continues through the end of the paid period. Except where required by law, fees are non-refundable.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to: (a) submit images or listings you do not have rights to; (b) attempt to forge, alter, or misuse certificates; (c) scrape, resell, or systematically extract the registry, grades, comparable sales, or any other data from the service; (d) use the service to misrepresent a card to a buyer, seller, grader, insurer, or platform; (e) use outputs to train competing grading models without written permission; (f) interfere with, probe, or bypass security, rate limits, or authentication; or (g) use the service in violation of applicable law or third-party terms. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules and remove or revoke any content or certificate.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The service, including all grades, sub-grades, valuations, imports, and certificates, is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement, or that any grade or valuation will match a third-party grader or market outcome. chck.ai does not warrant that outputs are error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for any transactional or submission purpose.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, chck.ai, its affiliates, and its suppliers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, resale value, buyer or seller trust, submission fees, chargebacks, or any other loss arising out of or relating to (i) any grade, sub-grade, valuation, comparable, or certificate, (ii) any transaction, listing, purchase, sale, trade, or dispute in which a chck.ai output was used or referenced, or (iii) any submission of a card to a third-party grading company informed by a chck.ai output — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid chck.ai in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) USD $50.

10. Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless chck.ai and its personnel from and against any claim, loss, liability, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to (a) your use of the service, (b) your submission, import, or sharing of content or certificates, (c) your use of any chck.ai output in a transaction or third-party grading submission in violation of Section 3, or (d) your breach of these Terms or of any applicable law or third-party right.

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You and chck.ai agree to resolve disputes in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you waive any objection to that venue. Nothing in these Terms limits any non-waivable statutory right available to you as a consumer in your jurisdiction.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced on the site or by email. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
